As for my job, it's 8 hard and boring. As a vet (獸醫(yī)), I must be very patient 9 sometimes I have to try for hours before I get the work right. It always makes me feel tired. To relax, whenever I get a holiday, I go straight to a 10 beach. It's the best way to relax myself. |

Apple_70 Junior Member Credits: 1660 Registered 2011-7-22 | It’s really hard to stop the teens from playing computer games. Luckily, my son doesn’t like playing computer games. He is a good student at school. He studies hard and gets good grades in the tests. But I want him to learn about piano or art because it’s very important for a child to learn things outside school. He just doesn’t understand that. He only does what the teacher asks him to do.

Smile Senior Member Credits: 2035 Registered 2009-6-3 | For me, it’s too bad to have twin daughters. They are only 6. They look the same, go to the same school. But they act totally differently. One is quiet and friendly to people around her. The other is very naughty. She often makes others annoyed. And they always argue at home. They can’t watch TV together and they want to have the same doll. They don’t know what share means.

When I came into my classroom on the first school day after the summer holidays, I didn’t find anything different. Boys were still 1 about basketball and computer games excitedly. Girls were asking about each other’s holidays. The classroom was as 2 as it was before, but the class name had changed - Class 1, Grade 9.
I used to think that Grade 9 was so 3 from me. But now it’s here, in my classroom, in my books and in my mind. This is a year of study, exams, challenges(挑戰(zhàn))and pressure. I felt relived (安慰的) that I didn’t see many students 4 exercises without stopping. Everybody was 5 as they usually did, although they were in Grade 9. So I didn’t feel any pressure.
I’m afraid of pressure. I know it’s unnecessary 6 a student to be worried all the time, but I can’t help 7 nervous when I’m having an exam. I must try to change this.
Now I always tell 8 , “Don’t worry, the result is not important. Try your best in the exam. Everyone has 9 at school. Don’t be afraid of such a normal thing.” This makes me feel better.
Too much homework, too 10 exams, too much time spent studying. But I never feel that I’m unlucky. Every student experiences Grade 9, and I will try my best.

The computer makes doing schoolwork easier for me than it was for my mom and dad. For example, when writing book reports and stories, I use Microsoft Word instead of a pen and paper. That way, after my teacher checks my work, I can go back and make revisions without having to rewrite the whole thing. And Microsoft Word has a spell check! I use it all the time.
For English class, we are reading The Outsiders by S. E. Hinton. As pre-reading homework, my teacher asked us to research teenage groups on the Internet. I tried Google, Encarta, and Yahoo first, and finally found an article on Time. com .
For geography homework on the United States, I used Encarta to learn about the Mississippi River. I needed to find out how deep the river is, how its widths and depths are different, what states it runs through, and what kinds of fish live in it. I used the information to show how the geography of a country influences its economy. For example, the river’s trade paths, the number of fish caught in it and the tourists it attracts directly affect Southerners’ jobs and incomes.
I never go to the library to do research. It takes too much time. Since I live in New York City and both my parents work, getting to the library isn’t always easy. For a big task or research project, I used to stay at the library to read, or sign out whatever books or magazines I needed. Now being able to find the information in my own living room makes everything a lot simpler. Online dictionaries and encyclopedias (百科全書) also save time.
Sometimes, I think the computer spoils my generation because it is so easy --- at least physically. But computers are not like television, which does the thinking for you. You still have to use your mind. I prefer using a computer, easy, fun, and fast.
What does the writer use when he writes book reports and stories? (no more than 3 words)
Why doesn’t the writer go to the library to do research? (no more than 6 words)
How does the writer complete a big assignment or research project at present? (no more than 10 words)
Why does the author prefer using a computer? (no more than 11 words)

If a Chinese comes to England and wants to drive his car there, he must know the English rules of the road and the English traffic signs. One rule is that he must always drive on the left.Another rule is that he mustn’t drive faster than thirty mph through town and villages. If he does not pay attention to this speed limit, the police will soon be after him.The third rule is that cars on the main road have right of way.It is not easy to drive in London, because the traffic is so busy and buses and trucks sometimes block the roads. It is much less difficult to find your way if you go by one of the red buses or the underground. There are bus stops at every street corner. And if you cannot find one, ask a policeman. He will help you at once.

C.The passage doesn’t tell about that.
19.What can we know from the passage?

C.We know police in England are often impolite.
20.What’s the best title for this passage?
