Many plants and animals live in the ocean (海洋). Some plants live in coral reefs (珊瑚礁). Many different animals live in coral reefs too.
Coral reefs grow in water that is not deep. This water is warm. It is easy for animals to find food in warm water.
A coral reef looks like a plant, but it is really many small animals stuck to each other. Each animal has a soft body and a hard skeleton (骨架), or set of bones.
Many coral reefs are dying. People must work hard to keep coral reefs safe. If we don't save coral reefs now, they might be gone one day.
