Jules Gabriel Verne: What will the future be like?
Almost every person has a picture of the future world in his or her mind. Then, how did people in the past dream of today's world? Did their dreams come true?
Jules Gabriel Verne, a French writer, was a big dreamer. He was famous for his science fiction His stories are very interesting. More surprisingly, he created so many wonderful things in his books, and those things have become a reality (現(xiàn)實) in today's world.
In the book From the Earth to the Moon, Verne discussed the idea of taking a trip to the moon. He described so many things about how to take people to the moon. About one hundred years later, scientists made it possible. Not only that, but in his book 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, the characters go all around the world on an electric submarine He finished the book in 1870. The idea of the electric submarine was surprising as the use of electricity was not common at the time. Although Verne didn't invent the submarine, his book helped some people come up with wonderful ideas to make submarines work better.
Many people are surprised at Verne's creative mind. In fact, his creative predictions went hand in hand with his hard work. He read a lot of different subjects, studied science and often talked with scientists so that he knew what was happening in his time and let the new things feed the fires of his creative ideas.

Because his book helped some people come up with wonderful ideas to make submarines work better.
) 3. Why was the book 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea important?
A選項,文中提到“20,000 Leagues Under the Sea”是1870年完成的,不是“From the Earth to the Moon”,A錯誤;B選項,文中說“Although Verne didn't invent the submarine”,B錯誤;C選項,“Jules Gabriel Verne, a French writer”表明他是一名作家,C正確;D選項,“the use of electricity was not common at the time”,D錯誤。
根據(jù)“Although Verne didn't invent the submarine, his book helped some people come up with wonderful ideas to make submarines work better.”
