閱讀下面短文,從短文后的選項(xiàng)中選出能填入空白處的最佳選項(xiàng)。選項(xiàng)中有兩項(xiàng)為多余選項(xiàng)。

Make a Difference to Your School
Your school offers great chances to study, make friends and try new things. Each term, you have time to use these chances. Also, there is time to think of ways to make a difference to your school. 1
Learn more about your school. To learn what happens around your school, join school teams or clubs and take part in activities. 2 These people can give you a better understanding of your school. For example, if your school has a student newspaper, check it out or consider (考慮) joining it. You will know more about what is happening at school through it.
Find a need and take action. 3 Maybe you enjoy playing volleyball after class. Now think about ways to make this activity even better. You might wish your school to provide more volley balls for students to use. 4 You could offer to hold a book sale to buy sports equipment (器材). 5 It may seem simple, but being friendly to others can help create a good environment. This includes saying thank you when a student helps you, cleaning up any mess you make, and saying hello to others in the hallways. A good attitude (態(tài)度) can spread.

A. Be friendly to others.
B. Here's how to get started.
C. They help you meet more people.
D. Work hard and make yourself better.
E. Thank about things you enjoy at school.
F. There are many interesting clubs for you to choose from.
G. Once you have your idea, talk to your school to see if students could help.

答案:
1. **B**
   - 解析:前文提到有時(shí)間去想辦法為學(xué)校帶來改變,后文開始介紹具體怎么做,“Here's how to get started.”(以下是如何開始的方法)起到承上啟下的作用,所以選B。
2. **C**
   - 解析:前文說參加學(xué)校團(tuán)隊(duì)或俱樂部、參與活動(dòng),后文說這些人能讓你更好地了解學(xué)校,“They help you meet more people.”(它們幫助你認(rèn)識(shí)更多人)解釋了參加這些的好處,銜接合理,所以選C。
3. **E**
   - 解析:后文舉例說可能喜歡課后打排球,思考讓這個(gè)活動(dòng)更好的方法,“Think about things you enjoy at school.”(想想你在學(xué)校喜歡的事情)能引出后文,所以選E。
4. **G**
   - 解析:前文說希望學(xué)校提供更多排球,后文說可以舉辦圖書義賣來買體育器材,“Once you have your idea, talk to your school to see if students could help.”(一旦你有了想法,和學(xué)校談?wù)効磳W(xué)生們是否能幫忙)銜接了有想法到采取行動(dòng)的過程,所以選G。
5. **A**
   - 解析:后文說對(duì)他人友好能幫助創(chuàng)造良好環(huán)境,“Be friendly to others.”(對(duì)他人友好)能概括這一段內(nèi)容,所以選A。
四、閱讀理解
Dr. Aboutacar Kampo once lived in C?te d'Ivoire, a country in Africa. Plastic is a big problem there. Very little of it gets recycled (回收). "How can we turn plastic into something useful?" Kampo wondered and started to look for the answer with his friend in UNICEF.
Finally, he found Conceptos Plásticos, a company in Colombia. It recycles plastic and turns the plastic into big, Lego-like bricks. Then it uses them to build schools and homes for people in need, like those in C?te d'Ivoire. "Conceptos Plásticos gives us a solution (解決方案)," Kampo says.
New Classrooms
More than 1.5 million children in C?te d'Ivoire didn't go to school, because there weren't enough classrooms. For kids who do go to school, classrooms were overcrowded (過于擁擠).
In 2018, UNICEF built its first classrooms out of recycled plastic in C?te d'Ivoire. In 2020, it built 42 classrooms there. It planned to build 528 by the end of 2021.
How do kids like the project? "They love it," Kampo says. "When we build a classroom, we build it with the community."
Making Space
Sophie Chavanel works for UNICEF. She remembers the first new classroom built from plastic in C?te d'Ivoire. Children got together in the middle (中間). The teacher said, "Now we have a big classroom. You can move! You can dance!" Sophie believes it will make a big difference in the quality of education.
